By creating an account, browsing listings, submitting a property, or using any feature of PlaceHunt, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and legally capable of entering into binding agreements under the laws of Kenya.

Your continued use of the platform after any modification to these terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

PlaceHunt is an online property listing platform that connects prospective tenants with landlords and property agents in Kenya. We facilitate the discovery of residential houses and commercial shop spaces available for rent.

All transactions, agreements, and disputes related to a specific property are solely between the landlord/agent and the prospective tenant.

To access certain features, including saving favourites or submitting inquiries, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Keep your credentials confidential and not share your password
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access or security breach
• Take full responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account
• Use a valid and accessible email address for communications

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms or where we suspect fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.

Property listings on PlaceHunt are submitted by landlords or their authorised agents. By submitting a listing, you represent and warrant that:

• You are the legal owner of the property or have authority to list it
• All information provided — including rent price, location, amenities, and photos — is accurate and not misleading
• The property is legally available for rent under Kenyan law
• Uploaded photos are your own or you have the right to use them
• You will update or remove listings promptly when the property is no longer available

PlaceHunt uses AI-assisted tools to generate property descriptions. These descriptions are informational drafts only and must be reviewed for accuracy by the listing owner before publishing.

All users — tenants and landlords alike — agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or duplicate listings
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Kenyan law
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users through the platform
• Scrape, crawl, or extract data from PlaceHunt without written permission
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform's systems
• Impersonate another person, business, or PlaceHunt staff
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the platform
• Engage in discriminatory behaviour based on tribe, race, religion, gender, or disability in connection with property listings

When a user submits an inquiry on a property (a "lead"), their contact information is shared with the listing owner to facilitate direct communication. By submitting an inquiry, you consent to:

• Your contact details being shared with the relevant landlord or agent
• Being contacted by the landlord or agent via phone or WhatsApp
• PlaceHunt storing your inquiry for administrative and safety purposes

Landlords receiving lead data agree to use it solely for responding to property inquiries and not to sell, transfer, or misuse this data for unrelated commercial purposes.

PlaceHunt provides the platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We are not liable for:

• The accuracy, completeness, or legality of any property listing
• Any loss or damage arising from a rental transaction between a landlord and tenant
• Temporary unavailability or errors on the platform
• Unauthorised access to your account due to your own negligence
• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of PlaceHunt

All content on PlaceHunt — including the logo, branding, website code, and platform design — is the property of PlaceHunt and is protected under applicable intellectual property laws.

By submitting photos or other content to PlaceHunt, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the platform.

You retain ownership of content you submit. You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this licence.

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your listings and saved data may be removed from the platform, though we may retain certain records as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to PlaceHunt at our sole discretion, without prior notice, for any violation of these terms or for any reason we deem necessary to protect the platform and its users.

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Any disputes arising from or related to your use of PlaceHunt shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or platform features. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of PlaceHunt after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
